I've Lost All Resistance, and Crossed Some Borderline

Gabriel made an irritated sound. "Not fair..." He whined.

"You wouldn't want to give your audience any less than your best, would you?" Diana asked.

Gabriel sighed and shook his head. "No..."

"Then you need to focus on getting better so you can give them a proper performance later," said Diana.

Gabriel nodded, closing his eyes. "Okay..."

Diana smiled. "I'll be here, just relax."

Gabriel nodded and mumbled something as he fell asleep, though it was closer to passing out.

Diana sat down in a chair by the bed.

Gabriel pushed all his blankets off himself as he slept, lying on his back.

Sammy kept the blankets close, in case he got cold again.

Gabriel groaned in his sleep, shifting uncomfortably.

Sammy ran a hand through his hair.

Gabriel jumped at the touch, whimpering and quickly curling up.

"Shhhhhh," said Sammy. "You're okay, you're okay."

Gabriel whimpered again, curling up tighter.

"Gabe, it's just me," said Sammy

Gabriel made a nervous sound, his eyes still closed.

"It's alright," said Sammy

Gabriel didn't respond besides groaning as he slowly opened his eyes.

Sammy smiled softly.

Gabriel slowly rolled onto his back, looking around as if trying to find someone.

Diana took Gabriel's hand.

Gabriel jumped slightly again, slowly looking up at her.

"Relax honey," said Diana.

"...mama?" Gabriel said quietly, shivering again.
